I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1970, and spent my adolescence in the southern suburbs of Sandy.  I began studying fine art at the University of Utah in the fall of 1989, thru the spring of 1992, focusing primarily on sculpture.  Upon leaving school, I took up painting and have made it my main window of expression for over the last twenty years.

In the autumn of 1997, I moved to Moab, Utah, and it was there that my art began to develop into a multiple of different styles and techniques.  These styles range from thick palette knife, plein air, landscapes, to color exploded abstracts, as well as figurative social commentaries and cartoon realism.   My work has been exhibited in multiple cafes, galleries and other events over the years.  I painted a tryptic mural of the mesozoic time period for the Dan O'Laurie Canyon Country Museum, representing the appropriate flora and fauna found in Utah during that geological time.  I led a mural project, on the Moab cities's gymnasium building with foreign exchange artists.  I won the  peoples choice award for favorite artwork for children at the Moab Art Works "The Low Show"

I use art as my means to relate to the world, by either connecting with nature or trying to make sense of the human experience of living.  I tend to work my styles thru a series, forming a body of work which explore different ideas and technique approaches.  Then I move on to where the muse leads me next.

Which for now is a small cabin in the Wasatch Mountains outside of Park City, Utah.
